Stikets Iron-on Labels are thermally-adhesive. They do not contain any kind of glue or chemical adhesive. They simply adhere to the fabric because the heat during the ironing process allows the label to integrate with the piece of cloth.
For best results during application, you should place the Iron-on Label directly on top of the fabric, cover it with the silicon paper that is included in your order and iron at maximum temperature, with the steam function switched OFF, until you notice that the label is fully integrated into the garment.
One trick to know if the labels have been integrated is to make sure the texture of the clothing can be seen on the ironed label. In other words, when you slide your fingers over the applied label you should notice the textile “engraving” on top of the label. Once they have been integrated into the garment, the labels become extra-resistant to the washing machine and dryer.
You can see the application process in this video:
Some irons or ironing steam generators, due to their technical characteristics, do not allow the user to select the maximum ironing temperature or they release a small amount of moisture that prevents the Iron-on Labels from being completely permanent. Therefore, we recommend using an iron that allows the regulation of temperature and the deselection of the steam function while ironing.
